ARES

Amateur Radio Emergency Services

Delaware County Ohio

ARES amateur radio operators are volunteers that use their training, skills, and equipment to provide communications during emergencies "When All Else Fails". Hams serve our communities when storms or other disasters damage critical communication infrastructure, including cell towers, and wired and wireless networks. Amateur radio can function completely independently of the internet and phone systems. We are trained to work with the Delaware Emergency Management Association (DEMA) [Delaware Emergency Operations Center (EOC)], other government and private organizations to communicate effectively in multiple aspects, not just radio.
