Want to join?
The first thing you need is a valid FCC amateur radio
license. Practice the tests online, and check DELARA
(Delaware Amateur Radio Association) testing dates
on the DELARA website: www.k8es.org. Once
licensed, you’re invited!
Training
In order to have a solid background in how our
partner agencies deal with any type of situation, our
members train in the “National Incident
Management” - NIMS - courses. We require ICS 100,
200, 700 and 800. They are free, available online,
and will provide a solid background in the
organization of a large scale event. We provide more
training during our monthly meetings, typically the
second Thursday of each month.
Dedication
We realize this is (and should not be) your first
priority in life! But we do expect that you will have
time and energy to devote to our service! We gladly
accept whatever time you can give the program,
knowing that when emergencies occur, we’ll be
called to provide our time and service.
